December 20, 2010: In early 2011, almost every local will elect delegates to the Teamster Convention.
April 10, 2009: Most Teamster local union elections are run honestly—but if you’re running for local union office, you need to police your election to make sure it is fair.

Every year a third of all Teamster locals are required to conduct officer elections. Some, too many, go uncontested. But many are contested.
Running for local union office is a chance to do more than change the faces at the union hall.
Teamsters will be thinking about more than one election this fall. Apart from the U.S. Presidential election, many Teamster locals will be holding elections to select their local officers.
